What is Scout Network?
Network is our sixth and final section, for 18 to 25 year olds.
Whether you’re completely new to Scouts or whether you’ve been with us since you were 4 years old, joining Network is a great way to meet new people, seek out new challenges and see the world.
Scout Network connects over 20,000 young people aged 18 to 25 across the UK, giving them the opportunity to take part in a huge range of exciting projects and events centred on the themes of ‘Adventure’, ‘Community’ and ‘International’.
Scout Network in Stevenage
If you’re already in Scouting, once you turn 18 you will automatically become a member of the Stevenage and the National Scout Network.
As a member of the Tom Moore Stevenage Scout Network, you will be able to take part in County Network events and meet other Networks in Hertfordshire. Network also has its own camps and festivals, nationally and internationally. Network is run less formally than other youth sections, to enable you to fit it around your other commitments.
You will have the opportunity to earn some of the highest personal achievement awards for young people in the UK, including the King’s Scout and Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.

Options at 18+
Scout Network is not the only option available to 18 to 25 year olds (and beyond). There are many other roles and opportunities. You could:
- become a leader, working with young people directly
- become an instructor, using skills you already have or learning new ones (fancy climbing, rifle shooting, or archery?)
- support in an even more flexible way behind the scenes, at our events, the Canyon Activity Centre, or with recruitment, media or communications
- contribute at District or even at the National level (find out more)
- join the SSAGO (Student Scout and Guide Organisation), if you’re headed off to university (find out more)
