Scout Jamboree On The Air

Scouts, are you interested in making radio contact with Scouts from around the UK, and the world for that matter?  Maybe you would like to build you own LED safety light (ideal for night hikes)?  If the answer is yes, then this event is for you.

There will be two activities and you can sign up for either or both:

10:00 to 12:30pm                Build a crystal radio (TBC).  A simple electronics project to build and take home.

1:00 to 3:30pm                    Communicating with Scouts on the radio with the option to work towards the Scout Communicator Activity Badge.

The building a crystal radio session will include all components and you will be able to take the completed project home.  This must be booked in advance, as components need to be ordered.

The radio communications session in the afternoon costs £3.  There will be an opportunity to talk to Scouts from around the UK and Europe using Amateur Radio.  You will also be able to work towards the Scout Communicator Activity Badge if you wish.

Drinks and biscuits will be provided during the day and please wear your Scout uniform.   If you are attending both sessions, then please bring a packed lunch.
