SUMMARY:District Scout Around Town Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Around Town Challenge is a one-day event of local exploration and fun challenges for the Scout section. Teams of between 4 and 7 scouts travel around Stevenage by bus and foot\, completing activities and this year there will be a mystery to solve on the way around. \nFour Scout HQs around town offer activities as well as providing refreshments.  Challenges always include archery and rifle shooting and then a selection of challenges that vary each year. Previously these included a pictionary hike\, cooking twists over a fire\, making a knotting board and a camping stove challenge. \nThe days challenges end with the teams arriving back at the District Scout HQ for a sausage and chip dinner. \nThe Around Town Challenge trophy is presented to the winning team.  Are you up to the challenge? SUMMARY:District Night Hike & First Aid Competition 2024
DESCRIPTION:The annual District Night Hike and First Aid Competition takes place during the late Autumn. Teams of between 4 and 7 Scouts or Explorers\, take up the challenge of navigating their way through approximately 8 miles of Hertfordshire countryside by foot. \nWalking is broken up by a series of `incident bases’\, ranging from dealing with a first aid scenario to solving a mystery! to mention just two. \nFor those who like the competitive element\, there are trophies for the fastest walking time\, the highest score on the incident bases and an overall Night Hike trophy.
