SUMMARY:Scout Jamboree On The Air
DESCRIPTION:Scouts\, are you interested in making radio contact with Scouts from around the UK\, and the world for that matter?  Maybe you would like to build you own LED safety light (ideal for night hikes)?  If the answer is yes\, then this event is for you. \nThere will be two activities and you can sign up for either or both: \n10:00 to 12:30pm                Build an LED safety light.  A simple electronics project\, all parts supplied and you take the LED safety light home (£15 per Scout). \n1:00 to 3:30pm                    Communicating with Scouts on the radio with the option to work towards the Scout Communicator Activity Badge.  (£3 per Scout). \nThe building an LED safety light session will cost £15.00 per Scout\, this covers the cost of all components and a battery\, and you will be able to take the completed project home.  This must be booked and payment received by Monday 6th October latest\, as components need to be ordered. \nThe radio communications session in the afternoon costs £3.  There will be an opportunity to talk to Scouts from around the UK and Europe using Amateur Radio.  You will also be able to work towards the Scout Communicator Activity Badge if you wish. \nDrinks and biscuits will be provided during the day and please wear your Scout uniform.   If you are attending both sessions\, then please bring a packed lunch. \nTo book a place\, please complete the online form  and give your payment to your Scout Leader or drop in to the District Scout shop at Poplars on Monday evenings between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. SUMMARY:Remembrance Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:The annual Remembrance Day parade and service will be held on Sunday 19th November.  All members of Stevenage Scouting are invited.  Please meet at 9.45 am in the Primett Road car park behind what was Waitrose in the High Street. Please wear smart uniform and a warm coat\, suitable for the weather. The parade will move down the High Street to the bowling green for a short service at the War Memorial\, before parading back to the car park in Primett Road.  Parents and family are welcome to attend the service or line the high street to watch the parade. Pick up will be from the same car park between 11.30 – 11.45 am.

SUMMARY:District Scout & Explorer Night Hike
DESCRIPTION:The annual District Night Hike and First Aid Competition takes place during the late Autumn. Teams of between 4 and 7 Scouts or Explorers\, take up the challenge of navigating their way through approximately 8 miles of Hertfordshire countryside by foot. \nWalking is broken up by a series of `incident bases’\, ranging from dealing with a first aid scenario to solving a mystery! to mention just two. \nFor those who like the competitive element\, there are trophies for the fastest walking time\, the highest score on the incident bases and an overall Night Hike trophy. DESCRIPTION:The Christingle service will be held on Saturday 13th December at St Andrew & St George’s Church.  The service starts at 4 pm\, Squirrels\, Beavers and Cubs are all invited and should arrive for please arrive for 3:45pm.\n\nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/XKAYA9PMFRLh8UFF6\n\nPlease wear uniform\, group scarf\, dark/school trousers and dark/school shoes.\n\nSiblings and Parents are invited to stay.\n\nThe service raises money for The Children’s Society.\n\nBeavers and Cubs may wish to make and decorate their own collection boxes to collect some coins to bring to the service.  Boxes such as Oxo cube boxes and Smarties tubes are a suitable size.

SUMMARY:District Scout Cooking Competition

SUMMARY:Scout About Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Six hours of non-competitive\, fun activities\, including; archery\, building and lighting a fire or survival stove to make a cup of hot chocolate\, geocaching and building a wind guard for a camping stove from wood and screws (one per team\, ideal for the Colonel Woods Patrol Camp in May!). SUMMARY:St George's Activity Day
DESCRIPTION:For our St George’s Day celebration this year\, we will be running an activity day for Squirrels\, Beavers\, Cubs\, Scouts and Explorers. SUMMARY:District Camp
DESCRIPTION:Stevenage District Scouts are organising a weekend camp at the Well End Activity Centre\, open to all members of the district.  Squirrels are welcome to attend during the day on the Saturday; Beavers can visit for the day or camp over for one night; Cubs\, Scouts and Explorers can camp for the full weekend. \nActivities on offer will include archery\, shooting\, crazy golf\, traverse wall\, local hike\, big bubbles\, nature trail\, craft activities crate stacking\, rope making\, fire lighting and cooking.  Other activities may be added as the event is planned in more detail and we have an idea of numbers attending. \nCamping will be in sub-camps with other members of your own Scout group\, and the Explorers will have their own sub-camp\, but catering will be provided centrally for all. \nThe cost for the weekend will be: \n\nSquirrels visiting on the Saturday\, bring a packed lunch and take part in a variety of activities (£10)\nBeavers day visit including lunch and dinner and take part in a variety of activities (£20)\nBeavers camping for one-night (£35)\nCubs and Scouts camping both nights (£60)\nExplorers camping both nights and taking part in activities as well as helping run activities (£25)\nParent helpers camping (£25) to cover food costs only.\n\nIf any parents or carers would be willing to help with this event you would be most welcome and your help would be much appreciated\, please complete the adult health form and pay the contribution towards food\, using the Web App and we will contact you with more information and to arrange a DBS (if you don’t already hold a Scouting DBS).  We are looking for help with supervision of the participants\, refreshments and help with some of the activities. \nWe are still taking bookings\, to participate\, please complete the health form and make payment using this Web App.  We will update the Web App with more information on the camp as it is released\, as well as emailing to all signed-up participants. \nDistrict Camp 2026 – Initial Information
