Jamboree On The Air (JOTA)

17th October 2020 - CANCELLED

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 it is not possible to arrange the normal JOTA activities we would usually run at the District HQ this year.

Saturday 19th October 2019

District Scout HQ, Poplars

JOTA and JOTI are international events held on the third full weekend in October, offering all members of Scouting the opportunity to communicate with fellow members from around the world, via radio and the internet.

Stevenage Scouts set up a radio station capable of communicating with other Scouts around the home Counties, as well as those from other countries. JOTI chat rooms are often available for internet chat with Scouts from all over the world.

Additional activities with a communication theme are also available. For the Scout section this year you can work towards the Communicator Activity Badge and / or build a flashing LED safety light.

To take part in any of the activities, please complete the form on the information letter and return it to your Scout Leader or the District Scout shop, at Poplars on Monday evenings. The flashing LED safety light activity runs from 1pm to 3pm and costs £18.

The badge course runs from 3pm to 5:30pm and costs £4. The deadline for entries for the flashing LED safety light is the 7th October 2019, in order to allow time to order the components.
