District Scout Cooking Competition 2020
Sunday 9th February 2020
Stevenage District Scout HQ
Teams of four Scouts prepare, cook and eat a three course meal using equipment that might be found in the average `camp kitchen'. The meal is cooked inside the District Scout HQ using the equipment provided by the team. There is a theme to follow, which this year is “All fresh, not from packets or cans” This basically means the food you cook must be as fresh as possible with additional points being awarded for locally sourced, in season ingredients. It's not just about the cooking, presentation and table decoration are important too. Each team provides the judges with a small `taster plate' of their meal. The winning team will be presented with thecooking competition trophy, as well as having the opportunity to represent the District at the County cooking competition on the 24th February. The competition is very similar to the County event, with the same theme, so it would be possible to use the same menu.
